Under the Odommo Scholarship Programme 2026, a total of 10 students were awarded scholarships covering an 18-month period from July 2026 to December 2027.
Under the theme “Let Talent Take Flight, Let No Barrier Stand in the Way,” the PATH Youth Forum organised the “Odommo Scholarship Programme 2026” in Khulna, providing long-term educational support to meritorious and financially disadvantaged students.
The scholarship programme was held on Thursday, 27 August 2026, at 5:30 PM in the conference room of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Khulna Centre.
Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Kaniz Fatema Liza, Additional District Commissioner (Education and ICT), Khulna, attended as a Special Guest and speaker.
Other distinguished guests included Engineer Ariful Islam Jewel, Deputy Managing Director of Khulna WASA and Honorary Secretary of the IEB Khulna Centre; Nurul Imam Khan Mitu, President of UNESCO Club, Khulna; and Engineer Khandker Shamim, Chairman of PATH Bangladesh. The programme was chaired by Engineer Md Tawfiqul Rahman, President of PATH Youth Forum.

In addition to financial assistance, the scholarship recipients were provided with school bags and other educational materials to help make their academic journey easier and more supportive. The initiative therefore aims not only to provide financial assistance but also to ensure that students have access to essential educational resources.
The organisers said they designed the long-term support programme to ensure that talented and promising students do not have their education disrupted by financial hardship.
The event was attended by the scholarship recipients and their parents, as well as teachers from various educational institutions, representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and officials involved in youth development.
Their participation transformed the event beyond a simple scholarship distribution programme into a broader platform for collaboration among the education sector, youth development initiatives, social organisations and development stakeholders.
Speakers at the programme emphasised that individuals and organisations with the capacity to contribute, as well as social organisations and development agencies, should play a greater role in supporting talented students. They stressed that no student's aspirations should be brought to an end simply because of financial difficulties.
They further observed that support provided to a student can eventually contribute to positive change within a family and the wider community. Investment in education, therefore, should not be viewed merely as individual assistance but as an investment in developing the human resources and future leadership of the country.
The initiative undertaken by PATH Youth Forum was also highlighted as a positive example of youth-led social responsibility. Such initiatives, led by young people, create opportunities for individuals from different professional and social backgrounds to become involved in community development activities.
The organisers said that PATH Youth Forum plans to continue supporting talented and financially disadvantaged students while expanding its activities in areas including education, skills development, youth leadership and social empowerment.
Through the programme's central message—“Let Talent Take Flight, Let No Barrier Stand in the Way”—the organisers sought to convey a clear commitment: financial hardship should never become a barrier to a student's talent, education or dreams.
With the participation of students, parents, teachers, NGO representatives and youth development professionals, the programme reinforced a collective social commitment to supporting young people and creating greater opportunities for them to fulfil their potential.
